Enrich you list of prospects using Facebook (part 2) [Training in network marketing - MLM]
In the first part, we underlined how important it was to fill in your Facebook profile adequately. Keep in mind that the information you give and the way you share it will help you build up new, long-term relationships.
It’s important to specify that there is no magic formula in the prospecting business. Successful prospection requires thoughtful communication.
The first step will consist in defining which type(s) of profiles you’re interested in. To do that, I suggest you make up a list of criteria corresponding to what you’re precisely looking for.
Three reasons why it’s so important:
- First of all, because you plan on collaborating with these persons on a longterm basis.
- Then, because it will help you focus your communicative skills.
- Last but not least, because it will save you a lot of time.
In the process of elaborating your criteria of selection, I suggest you give priority to human qualities above professional skills, even if these are not to be left out.
These qualities are worth looking for
- Integrity: being truly yourself, and not having bad intentions
- Tolerance: the ability to accept things which you wouldn’t spontaneously agree with, for instance if they go against your own beliefs.
- Sharing: implies pooling together with other people, communicating with other members, sharing and collecting information, adapting to different situation.
- Consideration: paying attention to other people and being respectful towards them.
Building up new relationships is in the first place a personal investment towards another person.
Let’s now see how you can use Facebook as a social network to look for profiles that might interest you.
For example, if you’re looking for people interested in the wellness sector, use the search button (at the top of the page) and type in “wellness”, or any of its synonyms. You will have the possibility to choose how you want to classify the results of your search: people, fan pages, group, applications, events, friends’ publications or public ones.
I would suggest to focus on the groups and fan pages, which are places devoted to discussion. You will be able to follow discussions between the members of the group, and find people that could be interested by what you’ve got to share.
Keep in mind that successful prospection in network marketing relies on thoughtful communication. Not on inopportune promotion of your activity.
